The Sponge Spin uses the best materials of construction. We use real silver plated 0.032 French style blades, (#4 or #5), which can be seen up to 20% better than chrome and with their heavy weight allows for a slow spin in heavy current. This model also uses a #1 Gamakatsu Siwash hook and has our proprietary sponge between two pink beads. A small piece of lead is covered by the sponge and contributes to the spinner's overall weight of more than 1/2 ounce. A silver plated bearing above the top bead ensures that the blade rotates smoothly and finally, the spinner shaft uses heavy gauge 0.031 wire.
